60,000 miles and now my engine just shuts off
I love my Tucson and didn't have any problems until I returned it in August for a 60,000 mile warranty check, and now my engine accidentally shuts off while driving, it's scary. I read in many forums that this is a problem that comes up in 2005. shouldn't there be a response ???? it is dangerous!
the best car I've ever owned!
I bought my 2005 Tucson in June 2006 from Carmax and paid about $ 16,000 for about 21,000 miles. Bought for the cargo hold. I was a little worried about the 4 cylinder as my husband and I live in the mountains in northern Georgia with some serious roads and hills. however, our fears were never realized that this car could withstand many other more expensive cars. it rides in the snow with front-wheel drive like no rear-wheel drive car. I bought chains but only used them when the snow was really heavy. otherwise, this car just goes and goes. mileage is not the biggest and this is really the only drawback. there are now 78,984 miles on this car and the regular oil changes were just 3,000 miles. I never even had to replace bulbs! the rear seats remain down most of the time to increase cargo space. I used it as a pickup truck until my recently purchased Chevy 04 Silverado became my official pickup truck. the cargo area behind the rear seats leaves a lot to be desired when raised, but I still never lift the seats. the plastic on the dashboard is incredibly well preserved, and none of the element prints have faded ... not even on the power windows. esc works great and comes standard long before other automakers even offered it! Tucson
ahead of his time. the seats are well worn, although I put on the seat covers right after I bought the car. the fact that the rear window opens independently of the bottom is the envy of neighbors who own SUVs without this option. I can just open the window, reach back and pull out something without opening the entire back door. my Tucson may not be worth a lot at resale, but considering how well it works to date, I cannot sell it! I read about all the reviews of new cars and I just smile. no reviews for my tucson. I just love it !!!
Since the last 5 year review, several problems have been resolved.
lx 2.7L v6 4wd. today I have 63 thousand miles by car. just replaced the rear brake pads. change the oil once a year. the car still works fine, no problem. I still like to drive it. it was good value for money. in 10 years there were only 3 main questions. transmission oil leakage, accidental battery disconnection and intermittent door locks.
"the most reliable car I've ever owned"
I have owned this car since it was new. it was the most reliable car I have ever owned and fun to drive. she never had any serious mechanical problems. the only reason I am considering selling it is because I want a bigger car and am looking for Santa Fe to replace it.
great design, so many extra features that come standard, great on snow, 4wd. and reliable. I've only had minor fixes here and there over the years. It would be nice if it has better fuel economy, but you can't get everything.
"This SUV has proven to be extremely relia
