Sciences Books in Uganda

This book is the author's account of the 1910 voyage made by John Bland-Sutton (1855–1936) from the port of Mombasa (present-day Kenya) to Uganda and back to the coast through the Great Rift Valley in Ethiopia and Kenya. Bland-Sutton was a distinguished British surgeon with pioneering work in several areas of medicine. His interest in natural sciences was reflected in detailed descriptions of all the animals he observed, including antelopes, gazelles, lions, crocodiles and many species of birds. In addition, the book tells about the Maasai and Kikuyu peoples and their customs, the Ugandan Railway, Lake Victoria and visits to the cities of Entebbe and Kampala (Mengo) in the Protectorate of Uganda. Upon his return to England, Bland-Sutton published a lengthy account of his voyage, entitled "Men and Beasts in East Ethiopia" (1911). The People and Animals of Uganda is an abridged version of this work (with 94 woodcuts), published more than two decades later. 252 pages: illustrations, including maps; 23 centimeters Courtesy of the Uganda Society. It is necessary to study nature in order to know what is happening in nature and to understand how a person with his labor can transform nature and use it for the common good. After all, everything that we use in our life - various tools of labor, food, clothing, housing - is made from what is obtained in nature. The main advantage of the textbook is the examples of experiments and experiments. Practically in every chapter there is a description and drawing of the experience, which makes it possible to better assimilate the theoretical material, which, moreover, is presented in a very simple and understandable language for the child. 2 promotions for this product today 1 4 days left 0 0 hours BB Illustrations for the book V.
