An AUTO-Consulting correspondent found out at the Frankfurt Motor Show what the second generation of the popular B-class crossover Nissan Juke will be like. And also - what are the features of the new Nissan Navara NP300 pickup truck and the updated Leaf electric car. In short, this is a new era of crossover design, electric vehicle functionality and commercial vehicle quality levels.
Nissan's booth at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show is traditionally huge and multi-level. For each type of car - its own level. After all, Nissan has a wide range of models. And, again, traditionally, the Nissan booth was crowded. And when the time began to approach the beginning of the presentation of the conceptual Nissan Gripz, there was no crowding at all. After all, this concept may well become the second generation of the popular Nissa Nissan Juke in Tanzania n Juke B-class crossover in our country and abroad.
According to AUTO-Consulting, the little Nissan Juke with an outstanding appearance is the uncompromising sales leader among B SUVs after 8 months. Juke has overtaken competitors by a wide margin and occupies a third of the market in this segment. And in Europe, Nissan is on top. Juke has been the top seller here for the last 5 years.
Since the beginning of 2014, Nissan has launched 9 new models in Europe. And during the first eight months of 2015, more than half a million Nissan vehicles were sold there.
With such popularity, the new generation of Juke should be even brighter and more interesting. Apparently, this is why Nissan officially does not want to call the "street hooligan" Gripz the concept of the second generation Juke. In order, as they say, not to activate competitors ahead of time and not to scare away potential buyers. Rather, Gripz is one way to test the reaction of both.
Judging by the aggressive space design, the Gripz audience is youth. By the way, this style is called "emotional geometry". And it was created by Nissan design teams from Europe and Japan.
The Nissan Gripz is a new type of compact sport crossover for new, younger buyers. It is inspired by classic desert rally cars and racing bikes. The three-spoke 22-inch wheels are reminiscent of bicycle wheels - light but strong - with comparatively low-profile, high-pressure tires, which were specially developed for this concept by Bridgestone. Red and white graphics are used on the sidewalls of the tires, elements of which can also be found on the steering wheel.

Especially for travel, cameras are built into the headlights of a car, and the image obtained with them is recorded on each trip, just like cameras mounted on a cyclist's helmet do. Now you can share your impressions of your travels around the world with friends: they will be able to track the movement of the car on their computers, tablets and smartphones in real time.
Nissan Gripz Concept has a sports car silhouette with a body elevated above the road, making it possible to move on roads with various surfaces. The concept is equipped with a carbon frame, over which expressive body panels are placed, as if "armouring" the car.
When creating the image of the concept, a tribute was paid to one of the first Nissan crossovers - the legendary winner of the Nissan 240Z Safari Rally. In the 1970s, these sports cars were redesigned using experience gained from developing Nissan's all-wheel drive models for the challenging Baja Peninsula rallies that took place on the plains of Kenya, Uganda and present-day Tanzania. These rally cars had a raised body, reinforced suspension and contrasting paintwork: the hood and trunk lid were matte black, and the main body was red-orange.
From a technological point of view, Gripz has a lot of new things. For example, the new hybrid drive technology. It is the same as in electric vehicles, as part of the Pure Drive e-Power series hybrid system. Gripz debuts a prototype of a new hybrid system delivering 80kW of power and 254Nm of torque. It was developed using Nissan's rich experience as the manufacturer of the world's best-selling electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf.
